Booty LA - With Captions

I love that Phil wanted to do something different for his birthday.  I already posted the club pictures here, but there were more from my camera.

Phil never had a boutineer, so I popped another cherry using flowers I found in the street and ribbon/saftey pins I found in my room.  It was basically craft night for me.

Walk to the club.... walk through the club

Everyone was getting a ride from Jimmy that night.

So Bad, it's good
REAL NACHOS from BURRITO KING in LOS ANGELES.  Thank you.

Straight Clubbing

MMM - Recipe from Smitten Kitchen.   There's no more excuses, look up a recipe and cook it.

After enjoying a homecooked meal by my friend's boyfriend we decided to do something that I rarely get to do and love:  STRAIGHT CLUBBING!!!

That means button up shirt un-tucked rolled up sleeves and girls girls girls.

After a couple of hours of straight clubbing, I sit on a curb and make small talk with the people I met that night.  I see a cute boy walking pass with his friend and make my usual aggressive eye contact.  He realizes I was staring and turns his head back at me and does the "sup nod" then proceeds to walk away.

Mmmmm Love fliriting with danger.

First I go like this:

Then, when I see him looking back, I go like this:

To do this at gay clubs is boring.  No mystery, no challenge.  Yawn.  But to give a look and get a look at straight venues is purely exciting.  I love this.

==

In the club, I see one of the blonds I met texting her phone desperately as some slime ball tries to talk to her.  I whispered in her ear, "do you want to talk to this guy?" She gives me a look, "hell no."  I pull her arm and save her.  I did this about three times.

I love protecting women from predators

Music played top 40, classic hip hop and the Cat Daddy.  I "move my arms like my wheelchair's stunt'n" which I thought was "stuck." So I move my arms back and forth like I was stuck in place.  The dudes around me ask what I'm doing, I explain and they exclaim, "I LOVE THE DISABLED DANCE!" And try to imitate me.

I love trend setting dance moves to the dudes who don't know how to dance.

I freaking love straight clubbing and I get sad when my gay friends think it's the worst idea ever for me to suggest it.

The only thing missing is being able to grind with the boo on the dance floor.

I need more lady friends.

Bootie LA Prom!

Loving these themed parties. Jimmy and I came as nerdy prom dates.  We were wearing the bow ties that I made from neckties and boutineers I picked from the street, wrapped with ribbon and pinned to our suspenders.   Zooming on the craftsmanship:

Yeah, the flowers were dying at that point, but at least they added color.  Jimmy never went to prom in high school.  I was proud to be his first prom date.  :]

Phil's friends :D
Some folks didn't get the prom memo, but those who did went all out.

321 BOYZ

Check out Carrie:

And this latex couple:

They also had a prom Queen, King and Couple.  The winners:

This chick had a baby fall out of her dress and then she ate it.  It was amazing.

This steampunk couple won prom couple.

And TRON dude for Prom King

Two guys went up for Prom couple and the MC said, "you have to KISS to be considered a real couple." And one of the guys shook his head 'no' and walked off stage.  Everyone boo'd.  We saw them make out with girls a couple of minutes later to re-secure themselves - how sad.  Just peck your friend, whats the big deal?  Jimmy and I should have entered the contest.

Party all niiiiighhht.

San Diego for Clubbing

March 10:

Jimmy: What do you want to do tonight?
Letopho: Whatever
Jimmy: Wanna go to San Diego?
Letopho: Um..
Jimmy: Sam is driving
Letopho: yes.

Somehow we found ourselves in San Diego.

Gay youngins would drive up the 5 from San Diego just to go to Rage in West Hollywood.  I found this ridiculous because it's a 2 hour drive.  How do they not crash and burn?  I find it even MORE ridiculous when San Diego has its own gay neighborhood (Hillcrest) with decent gay nightclubs.

Seriously you guys?  For Rage?

Anyway, that night, we passed those kids on the 5 and gave them a high five from the freeway because we were checking out the San Diego gay scene.

But why?  Well, mainly because Sam needed to outreach, but while we were down there... yes.

First club was Eden. Wow.  It was the "Abbey of San Diego."  Meh, attractive white boys... if you're into that.  One drink and we were out.  Rich's was next.  It was amazing.  We avoided cover by showing our student IDs.  I already loved it.

Hip Hop floor with good hip hop music.  Ghetto booty bouncing and a large house/techno/remix room that I avoided at all cost.

Ok, I did end up there for a hot second just so I can do my signature gay dance moves. Dunch dunch dunch.  And then back to the hip hop room to bump, grind, body roll, dougie etc.  I like hip hop music to get intimate.  Something about swagging over to a guy and then finding and matching their rhythm. Flirtatiously smile when you get close, popping your chest, subtly touching - thumbs in their belt holes.  Mimicking what you would be doing with them in bed.  Moving to the instructions of the song... yes. All night dance sex... connection.

One of the main things about dancing to dance remixes and techno beats is that you can't really get sexy.  I just don't feel it.  Just a lot of bouncing.

Please disagree.  I've spent an hour trying to find sexual dance/house music.  To no avail.  More bouncing and maybe spray me with a hose.  I was able though to put together a playlist called, "Acceptable Dance Music."  Some David Guetta, DJ Sammy and Deadmau5.

Satisfied after having San Diego carne asada fries.

And home we go.  Probably one of the best clubbing experiences ever.

East Side Dancing, West Side Exploring

February 20:

A little dancing at Akbar.
Akbar was one of the first bars I went to when I moved to LA.  Ern really knew how to show me a good time.  I repay him by being good Lesbian company.  Check out my lumberjack vest:

I believe the guys are posing as "straight."  Hmm I don't remember voguing to a be a "straight guy pose."  I could be wrong.

Tired.
Over it.
Coffee.

February 21:
Took the bus to W. 3rd Street.  Walked from the beginning to the end until we could not walk anymore.  Lots of trendy stores that I would never revisit again except the Traveler's Bookcase - a bookstore dedicated to globe trotters.

Jimmy and I also visited the LACMA for their Target sponsored free day!

5 Step Program on Bumping and Grinding

Hey Eric,

Since you put together the 5 step program on winning $50 at the bar, what do you do if Mercedes approaches you to bump and grind?  I've been in WeHo for too long and forgot how to have rhythm.

She's drunk and coming at me!

1. Don't act scared, I'll be right there with you

2. Good, feel her ghetto rhythm and take a quick whiff of her hair like this.  Give a cheeky grin - yeah you like it you fedora wearing gaysian.  She wants you too.  The next step will come abruptly... be prepared... OH!

3. THERE it is!  BAM, like a dump truck!  Firm hand on her back.  Gentle, but aggressive.  Don't worry, I'm still here.  DONT LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT HER.. fucking gay.  MAKE HER BELIEVE!

4.  K! Good.  I'm gonna back out now.  YES.  Keep that hand there.  GET IT!!!! Show her that Quest Crew.  Poke her with your Poreotics.  Make her feel Kaba Modern.

5.  Challenge Accepted!  Photo finish for the family album!

February 2
In Echo Park is Barragan's - a random ass Mexican restaurant that evolves at night.  On Wednesday nights are $2.50 margaritas drinks and $12 margarita pitchers.  AND they play hip hop.  Hip Hop in LA is only played on Wednesday.

The crowd was so eclectic, hipsters, Mexicans, urban folks and gays with Grindr open.  There is not dance floor, but when the music of Hip Hop compels them, people make a dance floor out of the space between tables.  It was art.

I didn't find a bootylicious drunk girl to dance with, instead I stayed close to a friend.
This was my place.  Music was finally not remixed and my bay area rhythm came back to me.  MmM bump and grind. Bump and grind.

This guy bumped into Eric and responded, "moshi moshi."  Eric was confused and the drunk guy explained himself. "That means excuse me in Japanese, aren't you Japanese?"  Unfortunately, Eric, who is not Japanese, did not have a 5 Step program on how to manage drunk ignorance.  But Tweedledum was just trying to have a good time.  Weirdest experience of my life.

People talked to each other.  They danced together.  No one gives a fuck.  Drinks are cheap!  I could walk home.  Why do I head west to party when there is obvious a venue that meets my desiressssss?!

Don't let the floor work intimidate you. Stranger train.

Um.. gonna have my birthday here.  That's for shoooo.
