26th Birthday Tanktop Photoshoot

I've procrastinated on blogging about my birthday because I had 400 photos to sort through, but I think I selected the best.  Kevin offered his photo equipment to set up another photo-booth like for Sam's Hipster party!

Flamingos are in.

Probably one of the funniest moments of my life when Jimmy didn't realize his fly was down posing for the center picture.

I'd like to introduce Beached Whale Couture

Boy these nets are hazardous... work that net you f*cking tuna.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Thanks Kevin for setting that up!

Hipster Photo Booth

For Sam's birthday, Kevin offered to set up a photobooth.  It worked out well to show off everyone's "hipster attire" from the hipster themed birthday party.

Though I think hipster just meant, glasses, plaid and head covers (fedora/beanie).

Kevin had all the equipment - tripod, flash umbrella, nice camera.  We set up a background and grabbed various things in the house to be used as props.

Brrrrrr

Kevin busted out light show props.  Weeee

What else do hipsters like?

Fur?  Yes.....
Bikes?  Yes.....
Themselves?  YES!!! (mirror photo made me laugh for minutes)

Vasquez Photoshoot

March 5:

What do you do to help your artistic/creative boyfriend on his photoshoot advernture?

Hold the bags for their model of course. Brilliantly, I wore flip flops. I walked around barefoot to get more traction climbing the slippery Vasquez Rocks. Almost died a little.

Really though, if I can't be a good model for Jimmy's photo projects due to my lack of style (slash lack of attractiveness), I will hold the change of clothes. The model is our friend who actually works in fashion. Check out his spiky dress shoes below.

I was going for his hairstyle, before he told me it takes him at least 20 minutes every morning to get that perfect poof. Shoot, I'm out the door 15 minutes from when I wake up. Time to give up these hairdos fantasies.

I also took some production photos.

Anything for the boo.

I managed to sneak into a couple of shots. Call me a creeper, baby I was born this way.

Following Boys with Big Cameras

February 26:

Jimmy and Wirfs decided to explore downtown with their large equipment.  I just tagged along and soon discovered that they wanted to use me as their subject.

Once again, I was not prepared.

For some reason, I have no desire to own my own SLR... I guess the multiple features and functions overwhelm me when all I want to do is capture the moment because it goes away.

Eventually or probably now, they have cameras close to SLR quality and that's good enough for me.  Plus I think it's such a waste for me to possess something so expensive and not use it to it's full potential.

Please see Jimmy's finished products HERE and HERE.

I like this one because it looks like I'm in Vietnam again.

Wirfs!  Where are yours?

==

Afterward, we got to visit Wirf's humble abode where he showed pictures and told stories of past loves and travel adventures.  It's interesting how much I don't know about my friends.  For the 20 minutes that I was in his bedroom listening to him talk, excited to have guests over, I had learned more about him than the months I've known him while he attended my parties.

That's what I need to do more of... actually follow through with people I meet.  (Make new friends and connections.)  I may know a lot of people... but in general it's hard to really get to know them.

Own It.

Maybe that's the difference between being confient and being arrogant.

To be confident is to OWN IT.  Own, what? Own your limp, your gap, your studder, your education, your job, your family, your swagger, your situation, your body and say.. this is who I am.. I OWN IT.

To be arrogant is to take what you think makes you the best and treat it like it's better than everyone else.  You don't own it.  It owns you. (But it feels so good to think you're that good.)

Oprah knows what I'm taking about.  Her new network, the Oprah Windfrey Network (OWN) expresses what Oprah Owns: Everything.

She is not arrogant, she is confident because she OWNS it.  OWNS ALL OF IT. Even bees.

And this is my life in a blog. I own LETOPHO.  Except for letopho@yahoo.com, some punk has it and it kills me!!!

Anyway, that's me jumping in front of the Charmed House.  I don't own the house, but I like to jump in front of it.
