Last Saturday we hosted a Chinky de Mayo event! We hoped to have offended many communities. In celebration, Ern created some Orange Chicken Tacos! Delicious with sour creme, overpowering with salsa.
We updated Sam's birthday poster to match the party!
And kind of went overboard with the decorations.
OH shiz, a pinata filled with lychee jelly.
Look how scared everyone is. Then Ern brought down the lead pipe.... daym... take out that aggression!
A couple of guests made the party interesting-
-Messy lessy who spit on our floor right in front of Ern cuz she had something her teeth
-Jersey Shore douche with manicured brows who everyone thought was the biggest dick in the world; turned out to be a low class porn star.
We came up with a Gay lifestyle mantra:
party party party party drugs drugs drugs,
sad sex sad sex
guilt then FOOD!

cleanse my soul with sage
There was some bad energy that needed cleansing. Ern wanted to burn sage for the house to rid us. Instead we spent the evening Motherless... honest, raw and influenced by substances.
Never have I experience house music like that. I love it, my eyes fluttered, my 4 friends blurred and focused.. what they were saying confused me and made complete sense and my beat light acted like a internal campfire in Ern's room. I wanted dance, but i relaxed. I enjoyed the patterns of the ceiling, the sounds of their voice.
The cleansing happened with open dialogue, laughter, honesty positivity and realism. Playing games, being direct.. saying exactly what we were thinking... or not thinking. We sat around in bean bags and occasionally pressed the fog machine. The smoke added to our haze. "Im a free spirit," "I have strict boundaries.." both were tested. Advice was giving, advice was received. Emo? I was impressed at the "logic" spewing from my lips. "relationships..."
Amazing amazing amazing.
"Platonic making out? I dont think so..."
"as long as youre not weird the next day?"
"can you make out pleaseeeeeeee?"
"Please you had a crush on me too"
"WHAT?" It was so long ago, I didn't even remember
"It was the worst kept secret." I started to remember
"Oh yeah... psh, it wasn't a secret, I moved on in 1 week... I read your body language you are easy to read."
"That takes a maturity."
"I just get it."
"FRIENDSHIP SHOT!" I was worried about mixing... but took it anyway. Our bartender friend graciously emptied out my supply. I laid side ways, my eyes fluttered and people kept talking, whispering, yelling.
Wow.. why is this so illegal? Best Sunday ever.
"We cant make this a habit, even though it feels so good."
"But....."
"what's going on over there?"
Only because the other guy who's never done it before was also eager. "GUM! I NEED GUM" Altoids, gum, ice... were in the center of our "camp fire."
"youre a good host, you are warm." <- a very nice compliment to me... something I value since .. ever... welcoming ppl.
wowowowoowowowow. amazing. wowow amazing. im glad my first time was at home.. im glad my first time was with someone who was equally curious. safe space. Safe SPACE.
"Next round on me!" please and thank you.
I texted random people at 2AM, "OMG... My sheets feel amaizifn"

Busy May
This is what I did on May 1st.
-Painted my room with Jimmy. This is what I'm trying to recreate on my wall:
-Had amazing Thai noodle soup at Wak Dong Moon Lek, my new favorite Thai noodle place. The waitress was really fun. Loved her.
-Went to a gardening store-Trader Joes for some wine and cheese for our picnic
-Park with Ern Eric Jimmy and Jae and painted some canvases. We witnessed a homeless women in skinny jeans slap/spit on a Latino father in front of his son because he moved her trash can to make a soccer goal. Stripped of his masculinity, we watched the cops come one hour later to offer a meager resolution.
-Quick Improv show.. like bam bam, out the door, buy tickets, get's seats quick!
-Cowboys and Turban's Indian Street food for dinner. The restaurant stole sugar from Sizzler..jpg)
-Eric's birthday. Eric is a screen writer and did a reading at his birthday party. It inspired Ern to host an open mic night at our place.

Damn my daughter is going to dance like this:
Sunset Hollywood Ride
I was terrified. Even though these were trained horses, we were going 2mph and I had a helmet, I kept thinking about when I got thrown off a horse in Mexico. My back was bruised for days, I was damaged. I had to remind myself to loosen up.
"I could probably ride this thing bareback," stated my coworker. I think I was the only one chuckling.
This is my horse, "patches." He was well behaved. Other horses stopped to eat grass and/or peed and pooed a lot.
"What do gay horses eat?" our guide was trying to tell a joke.
"HEEEEYYYY" I replied with great enthusiasm. Everyone laughed, "of course I know that one!" I'm so gay with my coworkers, it's refreshing.
"The horses like to walk on the edge because they like to see if there are any predators climbing up to get them. Don't worry, they aren't suicidal horses." I nervously laughed.
Beautiful view from the Hollywood hills. I couldn't bend my knees, but we rewarded ourselves with some margaritas. Probably never going to ride a horse again.. unless I could connect my na'vi braid to them.

Reading for Pleasure
I'm trying this thing called "reading for pleasure."
I Love Yous are for White People was recommended to me by JV a long time ago. I finally bought it off half.com and started reading it. Forty pages in and I'm connecting with the characters and I feel as if I am able to entertain myself without using something that has a screen. Amazing.
The father reminds me of my grandpa, the depictions of life in Vietnam remind me of my trip two years ago and the references to LA also excite me.
I'm actually enjoying this book more than Catfish and Mandala by Andrew Pham which I have yet to finish. Does anyone else have any book recommendations?
Well, I shouldn't get so ahead of myself.

Work and Play
I thought I blogged about all of April, but realized that I missed a couple of things:
We went to MJs a lot in April. Such a sexual sexual place.
We came up with a three step dance move. Please follow the visual instructions below for max awesome danceness; remember to repeat on the beat:
Ern makes fun of me for getting low like a munchkin in photos. Hey, I want to make the picture more interesting!

Work took me out to Mastro's Steakhouse! Fancy pants dinner, oh my! And check out that steak in contrast to my phone. MMM yeah. I should have ordered a basket of fiber.

In the last week of April, I crammed in a couple of more things. Like FuBar's Big Dick Thursdays. So um.. you flash your dick and you get a free shot. MmM. Michael actually bought me a shot instead. I had to place my hand on the servers butt while he poured a kamikaze down my mouth. I was very awkward. But it was fun. We left before it got too raunchy.
What really annoyed me is Sam got a parking ticket for "parking in the red." Dude, anyone could tell you that the right part of the curb (where Sam parked) was gray and the left was red. I printed out 12 pictures and encouraged Sam to protest. LA you are dumb. I bought some street tacos to calm myself down. Best 3 dollars of my life.
Work lunch at Toast to welcome my replacement! It was a nice break from work, but when we got back to the office we were jamming!
The last day of April, we had a little cocktail party in our newly painted living room. Sam was our bartender and he made White Gummy Bears and Gimlets. And our old roommate Mike stopped by. =]
Okay April. Now you're done.
