I didn't even realize that RENT was being performed at the Hollywood Bowl for only 3 days with such a high profile cast list. Got the cheapest tickets in the house and had a lovely evening squinting my eyes and trying to recognize faces on the "big screen."
I was impressed with Vanessa though she couldn't hit the "AHHH OOO Tonight" notes, but her "Light my candle" was amazing. Wayne was perfect for the part, he is amazingly talented. Nicole also blew me away with her solo performance. I thought she was an original Broadway cast member! She deserves to be the focus of the Pussycat Dolls.
And hello Telly. I've developed a crush on this Asian American. I'm glad to see more Asians Americans play roles that are not ethnic specific. His performance was pure talent. I hope he makes it big on the stage. Love love.
I'm itching to perform. I remember the stuff I did in high school that involved singing and dancing. I miss performing in college and being so nervous being watched by my friends, but really loving every second of it. Something about performance that's really exciting. But there's always that concern of not being good enough. And performing for youtube, hoping to get hits, has been the resolution for those who love to display talent, but are too shy to put themselves on a stage.
Will you sing a duet with me? "Forget regret... for live is yours to miss."

After watching the video, I am convinced that Nicole was perfectly cast. Breath taking.

since you enjoyed light my candle, did you watch this saturday night and did vanessa take the stash from rogers pocket, because she didn't do it on friday and i thought that was important.
...Vanessa Hudgens was the worst thing to happen to this production. She was awful. The only thing interesting about her was that she was good looking and in shape and if that was the only reason she was cast (I'm beginning to suspect it was) then I am appalled at Neil Patrick Harris.
she wasn't that bad shes got some nice tones in her voice and can carry a tune. shes not the best mimi and when she was cast i didn't expect her to be. She can dance and she does look hot, she also had chemistry with aaron. NPH has his own reasons for casting vanessa he obviously saw something you didn't.
@Anonymous Vanessa did take the stash from Roger's pocket on Saturday. It wouldn't make sense for her not to! I'm sad they missed that detail on Friday.
i never saw this in nyc, but i used to work right down the block from the broadway theatre. the irony was there would always be homeless people sleeping right in front of the theatre when i walked by every morning.
